The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called for a speedy return to classes at the Benue State University (BSU) Makurdi, therefore the university has ended its participation in the ongoing strike.

According to Mfaga Modom, the institution’s registrar, “the university will reopen with effect from Wednesday, September 28, 2022,” Modom’s statement said. “On the order of the vice-chancellor, I write to notify all personnel, members of the university community, and the general public.”

On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, “all university workers are scheduled to resume regular responsibilities.”

Recently, all federal institutions were instructed to restart classes by the federal government through the national universities commission (NUC), however the directive was quickly changed.

In spite of the ASUU strike, many state institutions, including Ekiti State University, Imo State University, Kaduna State University, Lagos State University, and Delta State University, have now resumed academic activity.
