I am grateful for fresh start, what are you grateful for?

Please excuse my manners, before I go further, l wish you a Happy New year.

I can see your grin as you ponder why, on January 19, 2022, I am wishing you a happy new year. We will continue to wish you a happy new year till December in Nigeria, my home country. So please accept my heartfelt greetings.

There was one routine I always followed as a child, and I’m sure it’s still followed by many people now. On the first day of the new year, I’ll put down my prayer requests as well as my new year’s resolutions. You’ll see stuff like “new year, new me, start a new business, stay away from bad company, improve my spiritual life,” and the list goes on and on.

When you do a personal assessment of yourself at the end of the year, you may find that you contradicted the things you intended in your heart. There are no deadlines; this is an opportunity to start over.

However, this time, BE INTENTIONAL.

Having a clear written list and accountability system is one technique to help you be more intentional with your goals and resolutions. It’s easier to mutter words than to write them down, but reading them on a daily basis will remind you of what needs to be done. Make a list of them on sticky notes and keep them near your bedside. Affirm them by declaring. Continue to declare your intentions if you want to be intentional. Go over your resolution list before you start your day’s activities, and then edit it before you go to bed. When I was on the edge of quitting up at the end of 2021, this was quite helpful. Trust me, it will register in your subconscious and manifest physically soon enough.

You must get to work after announcing your intentions. If there is no fuel, a car will not move.

At this stage, you’ll need to back up your good intentions with a system of accountability. How can you make goals if you don’t have someone to report to? Husbands have a responsibility to their wives, children have a responsibility to their parents, students are accountable to their professors, and leaders have accountability to the people.

In this situation, accountability means that you are answerable to a person or group of people. Those objectives must be met, and the entire process must be guided. This could be a mentor, a friend, or a coworker who is invested in your success. Always keep track of the steps you take, and your accountant should keep track of how far you’ve come.

A strong support system is a strong accountability system.

Warm Regards, as you make your way through the year with your intentions
